The partners of Second Century Stewardship have announced the Request for Proposals for fellowships to support research in Acadia National Park in 2022.
Second Century Stewardship is a partnership of Schoodic Institute at Acadia National Park, the National Park Service, and the National Park Foundation, with generous support from the David Evans Shaw Family Foundation. Second Century Stewardship seeks to advance conservation and ecosystem science, support management of park resources, and strengthen and broaden the importance of science for parks and society.
To date, Second Century Stewardship has supported 15 fellows whose research has contributed to park resource management, and in many cases has led to additional or broader science collaborations in Acadia National Park and beyond. Proposals on a wide variety of topics are invited, but research must address priority research management issues in Acadia. Proposals for research that includes multiple national park units are especially encouraged.
The deadline for proposals is October 28, 2021. An overview webinar of Second Century Stewardship, the Research Fellowship, the application process, and park research priorities will be held and recorded via Zoom on Tuesday, September 14 at 3:00 p.m. Eastern.
Visit scsparkscience.org for more information, webinar registration, and the application portal.
